The Heart of the Agricultural World Beat in Ankara: AGROTEC 2015

Ankara became the center of regional collaborations by hosting one of the largest trade platforms of the agricultural sector in the international arena. Ankara Atatürk Cultural Center became the meeting point of a vast geography extending from the Balkans to the Turkic Republics with the 19th International Agriculture and Agricultural Technologies Fair, AGROTEC 2015, which opened its doors between September 10-13. Recorded as the largest agricultural organization in Anatolia, the fair served as a critical turning point for companies wishing to analyze the competition in the sector and expand into global markets.

Sectoral Alliance and Institutional Support

One of the determining factors in the success of the organization was the strong institutional consensus behind it. Leading organizations of agriculture, primarily the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as TARMAKBİR (The Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers), The Central Union of Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Chambers of Agricultural Engineers, and The Central Union of Cattle Breeders of Turkey, gave full support to the fair. This broad-based support enabled AGROTEC 2015 to gain the quality of an academy where agricultural policies and sectoral vision were discussed, beyond being just a commercial area.

Global Integration and New Market Goals

For producers asserting, “I exist in this sector too,” the fair offered unique opportunities. Participating companies had the opportunity to grant dealerships to regions they could not reach and make hot sales while carrying out their new product launches. The necessity for companies aiming for growth to cooperate with foreign partners operating in the same sector and to carry their activities beyond the country’s borders materialized in the meetings held during the fair. Concluded with a high visitor profile, AGROTEC 2015 undertook an important bridge role in transferring innovations in agricultural technologies to the field.
