The Giant Meeting of Agriculture from the Balkans to the Turkic Republics: AGROTEC 2013

Ankara hosted one of the most established international organizations in the agricultural sector, bringing industry professionals together in the capital. Ankara Atatürk Cultural Center became the trade hub of a vast geography extending from the Balkans to the Turkic Republics with the 17th International Agriculture and Agricultural Technologies Fair, AGROTEC 2013, held between September 12-15. This organization, bearing the distinction of being the largest agriculture fair in Anatolia, was the scene of a show of strength for both local producers and global brands.

Full Support from Industry Giants

One of the biggest factors in the success of the organization was the strong institutional support behind it. Leading umbrella organizations of the sector, primarily the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as TARMAKBİR (The Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers), The Central Union of Turkish Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Chambers of Agricultural Engineers, and The Central Union of Cattle Breeders of Turkey, played an active role in the fair. This institutional cooperation enabled the fair to transform into a platform where the pulse of agricultural policies and sectoral developments was taken, beyond being just a commercial event.

Global Collaborations and Search for New Markets

AGROTEC 2013 served as a critical turning point for companies stating, “I exist in this sector too.” Participating companies had the opportunity to grant dealerships to regions they could not reach and make hot sales, in addition to showcasing their new products. Important meetings were held, especially for companies aiming for growth, to cooperate with foreign partners and carry their activities beyond the country’s borders. The increasing graph of visitors and exhibitors throughout the fair played an effective role in reflecting innovations and modernization in agricultural technologies to the field.
