Opening its doors with the motto “To live in a better country, in better cities,” the 9th International Municipality and Environment Fair, CITYTECH 2015, concluded as a strategic meeting point aimed at increasing the service quality of local governments. Aiming to raise the municipal standards of Turkey during the European Union harmonization process, machinery, equipment, and infrastructure tools needed by modern cities were exhibited at the fair. The organization served as an effective solution platform where problems were discussed directly by bringing together local government representatives facing administrative and financial constraints with technology companies producing solutions.
Ecological Balance and Recycling Technologies
RECYCLE 2015, the environment-oriented pillar of the fair, introduced recycling technologies, defined as the “industry of the future,” to the public. Acting with the awareness of protecting the ecological balance, innovative projects opening the doors to livable cities were introduced in this section. Waste management, environmental health vehicles, and recycled products, which are expected to be the most important agenda items for heavy industry and local administrations in the coming years, were examined in detail by sector professionals. Tools and equipment developed with the goal of a sustainable world were among the innovations that attracted the most attention at the fair.
Local Administrations Summit and Global Sharing
The 9th International Local Administrations Summit, organized within the scope of the event, hosted thousands of participants from domestic and international arenas, creating a massive communication network. Representing 81 provincial special administrations, over 3000 municipalities, and hundreds of local government units, this summit enabled concrete steps to be taken in joint project development, technology transfer, and cultural experience sharing. While participants had the opportunity to discuss the difficulties they encountered in the service sector, they laid the foundations for collaborations integrated with the solutions at the CITYTECH and RECYCLE fairs.
