Opening its doors with the motto “To live in a better country, in better cities,” the 8th International Municipality and Environment Fair, CITYTECH 2014, concluded as a comprehensive organization offering solutions in the fields of urbanism and environmental technologies. Aiming to raise the local government standards of Turkey during the European Union harmonization process, modern infrastructure requirements, construction machinery, and municipal equipment were introduced in detail at the fair. The organization brought together local governments facing administrative and financial difficulties with private sector companies producing technological solutions to these problems on a common discussion and solution platform.
Industry of the Future: Recycling and Environment
RECYCLE 2014, the environment-oriented pillar of the organization, hosted critical technologies for the protection of ecological balance and sustainable urban life. The environmental technologies and recycling industry, described as the industry of the next century, found the opportunity to establish direct contact with the public and local administrators thanks to this fair. Waste management and environmental protection equipment, which are expected to be the most important agenda items for heavy industry and municipalities in the coming years, were among the most attracted sections of the fair.
Global Integration with the Local Administrations Summit
The 8th International Local Administrations Summit, organized within the scope of the fair, brought together numerous representatives from domestic and international arenas, enabling the sharing of experiences. Representing 81 provincial special administrations, 3226 municipalities, and thousands of local government units operating across the country, this giant organization paved the way for significant collaborations in joint project development and technology transfer. Participants sought ways to overcome the service problems they encountered with the innovative solutions presented at the CITYTECH and RECYCLE fairs.
